On Wednesday 15th October, Bassaleg came together to celebrate Shwmae Day (Hello Day) and promote the use of Cymraeg across our school community. Staff and pupils embraced the challenge of starting conversations in Welsh, spreading a little more Cymraeg throughout the day and showing that every shwmae makes a difference! Last Wednesday, 7th May, our school proudly hosted another successful Noson Goffi from 5pm–6pm, bringing together pupils, families, and staff for an evening full of Cymraeg, conversation, and community spirit. Led brilliantly by our fantastic Criw Cymraeg, the event created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where everyone could enjoy cacennau (cakes), te (tea), and coffi (coffee) whilst practising their Cymraeg in a relaxed setting.
