Health and Happiness at Bassaleg – Raising awareness for Dementia UK Thursday 30th June

Recount Piece by Mrs Wheatley

Our Prefects were once again brilliant at organising a fun Health and Happiness Day for our whole school community.

We started the day with everyone in non-school uniform and asking students to wear a splash of blue in support of Dementia UK. This was followed by our long awaited Bassaleg Mile walk where students spent form time walking around the school campus, it was so amazing to see everyone back out as a whole school community after years of Covid restrictions. Thankfully, the sun shone down and put a smile on everyone’s faces. Finally, at lunchtime, our students were entertained by “Crime Scene” (the Year 13 rock band) in Forge Hall and ice pops were on sale to help cool everyone down. We have yet to finalise the money raised but the buckets were overflowing, we are so grateful for the support.
