Noson Goffi

Last Wednesday, 7th May, our school proudly hosted another successful Noson Goffi from 5pm–6pm, bringing together pupils, families, and staff for an evening full of Cymraeg, conversation, and community spirit.

Led brilliantly by our fantastic Criw Cymraeg, the event created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where everyone could enjoy cacennau (cakes), te (tea), and coffi (coffee) whilst practising their Cymraeg in a relaxed setting. Diolch yn fawr to everyone who attended and supported the evening!

The aim of the Noson Goffi was to encourage learners of all abilities to use Welsh confidently. For some, it was an opportunity to learn new phrases, while for more confident speakers, it provided a valuable space to speak Cymraeg socially with others.

A range of engaging activity stations were organised across different year groups:

  • A lively Gorsaf Haf / Summer Station featuring seasonal vocabulary and phrases

  • Blwyddyn 7 activities focused on physical descriptions

  • Blwyddyn 8 explored countries and nationalities

  • Blwyddyn 9 a 10 developed their understanding of literature techniques and subject vocabulary

The evening was a wonderful celebration of Welsh language and culture, showing how learning Cymraeg can be both educational and enjoyable. Da iawn to our Criw Cymraeg for organising such a successful event and inspiring others to use Welsh every day — Cymraeg bob dydd!
