Glan Llyn 2026 - Blwyddyn 9
Between 27th February and 1st March, our Year 9 pupils enjoyed a fantastic residential visit to Glan Llyn in North Wales. The aim of the trip was simple: to give pupils the opportunity to practise a little Cymraeg while taking part in exciting outdoor activities and having plenty of fun together. After qualifying through the preliminary stage, two talented teams from Bassaleg School attended the final of the ACE Cyber Security Competition at USW on Friday 27th February . The event brought together over 50 young people from across Wales and England, all tackling advanced Capture‑the‑Flag challenges provided by Bridewell and NCC Group. Awdur: Max On the 30th of Ionawr we had a taster of what A levels are going to look like in Six Forms. Schools from Newport, including Caerleon High School, St Joseph High School and Newport High School came to join in this great opportunity here at Bassaleg High School. At the start of the day we had a talk with 4 pobl enwog who use Welsh in their day to day jobs and all the opportunities it creates for them.
