CyberFirst and Canadian Government Visit

On Tuesday 8th April the Digital Technology department were fortunate enough to host an immersive cyber experience delivered by Cyber First Wales. The activity transported our Year 8 learners back to WW2-era Bletchley Park, where they learnt about cracking the Enigma Code, and carried out various cyber activities to discover German U-boat activity in the Atlantic Ocean. A delegation from the Canadian Federal Government, University of New Brunswick, Thales and the National Cyber Security Academy at USW, also attended the event to learn about our school’s approach to Cybersecurity and Computer Science.

The pupils thoroughly impressed everyone with their work-ethic, behaviour and determination. The delegates were inspired by our approach of creating engaging cyber experiences for our learners and by our cross curricular approach to digital skills. Our thanks go out to Cyber First Wales and the National Cyber Security Academy at USW for working with us on such an excellent event. We are looking forward to offering more workshops with Cyber First Wales, and the National Cyber Security Academy, to more of our learners across all year groups.
